The first Sweet River Grill & Bar opened in 1983 at the Merced Mall.  This popular Merced restaurant is still going strong and today is owned and operated by the niece of the original founders of the company.  In addition to Merced , Sweet River now has locations in Modesto , Turlock , Clovis , and Santa Rosa .  Each location is franchised and individually owned.
